How much did I personally pay today?

Paid by me counts your actual payments for purchases. My expenses counts purchases you participated in. These answer different questions and are not your net balance.

What to do

   Open the group's totals and select Paid by me.

   Choose the active day or period you want to inspect. Transfers and repayments are separate from purchase spending.

   When cash/card tracking is enabled, inspect the payment-method breakdown too. Unspecified payments stay separately labelled.
