Why am I paying someone different?

With Simplify debts enabled, repayments can be redirected to reduce the number of transfers. Each person's net balance stays the same; the repayment route can change.

What to do

   Open group Settings and toggle Simplify debts to compare both views.

   Without simplification, you see the debts based on the original transactions. With it, you see a shorter set of repayments.

   Choose a view before settling. Existing expenses and recorded repayments are not removed by this setting.
